The Cisco Design Architect

Technical pre- sales role knowledgeable in Networking (route, switch, wireless, security) and Unified Communication solutions for Enterprise, Government, and Mid-Market entities.

Responsibilities Include:

Consult and Design network and voice solutions for customers including – LAN switching, WAN routing, Data Center networking, and Unified Communications.

Influence strategy for customer infrastructure design and direction by bringing value to customers as a "trusted advisor”.

Present proposals and technology updates to audiences varying from technical staff members, management, director level, and C-level executives. Must have the ability to translate technical capabilities into business value to the customer.

Develop and deliver accurate and detailed solution designs, bill of materials, and statements of work for designed solutions.

Maintain awareness of industry trends, product roadmaps, vendor programs and campaigns.  Conduct knowledge transfer training to sales organization and customers.

Work collaboratively and build relationships with third party vendors and outside consultants.



Knowledge and Skill Set:

Strong technical knowledge of Networking and Unified Communications solutions / products for Enterprise, Government, and Mid-Market customers with an emphasis on Cisco products.

Well versed and have considerable experience designing and / or managing complex IT environments.

Ability to provide professional documentation (diagrams, specifications, technical requirements, and proposal content).

Must be able to work well as part of a larger team.  

Strong relationship and personable skills a must.

Candidate must be comfortable with presenting solutions and have superb public speaking skills.

Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and manage workload through proper prioritization.


Bachelor’s Degree in related field

Industry recognized certifications in area(s) of expertise, desired – CCNP, CCDP, CCIE
